My sister is home for Spring Break so we watch her favorite movie The Secret of Roan Inish. We like this movie because it has all the elements. The language, the people, and the setting. The setting of Ireland allows us to see the beautiful landscape.
This movie is about a little girl named Fiona who lives in Donegal, Ireland. She is sent to live with her grandparents. There she learns about the tale of the Selkie. Seals that can shed their skin and turn human. The tale of the Selkie help her understand and look for her lost brother who was carried out into the waves in his cradle a couple years earlier. He was believed to be raised by the seals. She soon sees a little boy running about on the island. She searches to finally bring her brother home.
Great movie, and recommended to watch.
