Chapter 12: Some People Just Don't Grasp The Concept Of "Unwelcome"
While on patrol Seth accidentally howls when he finds Leah who came to join. Once again Jacob doesn't want his own pack and doesn't want to lead. But with Leah, Sam's pack is outnumbered. Leah hates vampires and Jacob but would rather be with them than in Sam's pack. Leah still has feelings for Sam, being in the same pack makes everyday miserable. Leah told the boys the story of what happened after they left. She said that it took awhile to realized they were disconnected from the pack. The end of their discussion ended with a very happy Seth because Jacob decided that Seth and Leah get to stay with him.
Jacob morphed into his human form and spoke to Carlisle. He said that Bella doesn't have much time and if her heart stops even vampire venom can't save her. Then Carlisle spoke about how humans have 23 chromosomes but vampires have 25 and werewolves have 24. Then Jacob's thoughts gave Edward an idea. Address the needs of the baby before Bella because the baby is draining Bella's life away. Even Rosalie agreed with giving Bella blood. Edward wants to keep Bella alive but thinks this idea is repulsive. But in the end Bella agrees. Even with drinking human blood and not animal.

I think it is great that Leah joined because it must be torture to be win the same group of someone who love but doesn't love you. Jacob is also fulfilling his destiny by becoming a leader. Also with Sam's pack outnumbered Bella will be safe long enough to get her hopefully healthy with the blood. Ugh! The idea of drinking blood is gross but if it was to save my life and the life of my baby then I might do it. But I'm not dying so I don't plan on drinking blood anytime soon.
